The tour begins at 7:30 in the Flamenco del Causeway Marina. Registry for the tour will be completed on the boat and so begins the adventure. The boat cruises under the Americas Bridge then later on to the Miraflores Lock, the first set of locks. Whilst in the lock we will ascend 18 meters in only two stages. After the lock we will find ourselves in the artificial Miraflores Lake which is located between the Miraflores and Pedro Miiguel Locks. In the Pedro Miguel Lock we will ascend a further 9 meters in one go. As we leave the Pedro Miguel Lock we will pass through Corte Culebra, an area full of history; it’s one of the most important attractions on this excursion. Also we will see the work being undertaken to increase the capacity of the Canal. Later we will see the Gatún Lake, the second largest man-made lake in the world. We will pass by the Smithsonian Institute of Investigations located in Barro Colorado and later through the Gatún locks, the last and only locks on the Atlantic side. At this point you will have the experience of dropping 26 meters in three different stages which completes the transit of the Panama Canal.
You will disembark in the cruise ship port of Colón 2000 where transport will be waiting to take you back to Panama City.
