Leaving Panama at 8:30 a.m. we will travel through the central provinces to the Valley of Antón, 600 meters above sea level. The Valley of Antón is an ancient caldera of an extinct volcano whose slope is covered with tropical forests crossed by rivers and impressive waterfalls. The most famous waterfall to visit is El Chorro Del Macho where you can enjoy a short walk through the tropical jungle, while enjoying the exuberant vegetation, the abundance of birds and other animals in their natural habitat. One of the attractions is the famous mountain India Dormida, which has inspired several authors to immortalize it in legends of the colonial era.
Visit the El Níspero zoo and botanical garden, home to endemic and endangered species such as the golden frog. We will visit the Valley Museum, which displays pre-Columbian art and colonial relics from the area. We will see square trees and petroglyphs, anthropomorphic images and symbols that have not yet been deciphered by archaeologists. Visit the handicraft market, where you can purchase from wild natural orchids to figures carved in stone made by local people. Return to the city after lunch.
