Leaving Panama at 9:00 am, we travel to the central provinces, the Valle de Anton, 600 feet above sea level. El Valle de Anton, is an ancient caldera of an extinct volcano, whose slopes are covered with tropical rain forests that are traversed by rivers and stunning waterfalls. The most famous to see is the Chorro Del Macho, enjoy a short hike through dense rain forest, while enjoying the lush vegetation and abundance of birds and other animals in their natural habitat. One of the attractions is the famous mountain in a shape of a sleeping indigenous, which has led writers to immortalize a legend of the colonial era.
Visit the zoo and botanical garden El Nispero, home to many endemic and endangered species, and the Valley Museum, which exhibits pre-Columbian art and colonial relics in the area. We will see square trees and petroglyphs, anthropomorphic images and symbols that have not yet been deciphered by archaeologists. Visit the craft market, where you can get from natural wild orchids to figures carved in stone by local people. Back to town after lunch.
